Once upon a time in Frontierland

Take a look back in time with us and discover Frontierland in a whole new way.

The Wild West was a land of endless transformation, where each new invention sent ripples through daily life. Frontierland at Disneyland Paris captures that same restless spirit. Here, attractions and experiences come and go, some shining briefly before fading into memory. In our ‘Once upon a time in Frontierland’ collection, we have gathered all the wonders that once brought this land to life.

From limited-time shows to beloved attractions that have vanished, the ‘Once upon a time’ category is filled with surprises. Frontierland has transformed in ways you might not expect, with many original experiences now just memories. Curious about what has disappeared? You are in the perfect spot. We have worked to create the most thorough overview possible. With over 30 years of history, we hope our list is complete. If you spot anything missing, let us know.

Even the flavours of Frontierland have evolved, as the tastes of Thunder Mesa’s residents shift with the times. The Last Chance Cafe, once a classic eatery, now tempts visitors with ice cream, and several restaurants have hosted magical meals with Disney characters. Since these culinary changes are often temporary, we have chosen not to include them in our list.

Once upon a time... Chaparral Theatre & its shows

The Chaparral Theatre in Frontierland was a stage located between the Frontierland Depot and the Cowboy Cookout Barbecue Restaurant. From the very beginning, this stage was used for spectacular shows. Over time, it underwent several renovations and was also given a roof for added comfort. The theatre hosted its final performances in early 2018 and was officially closed later that year. The Chaparral Theatre was then demolished to make way for a new building.
