Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin
Chasing his tail – Slinky Dog is doing laps round Andy’s garden
Toy Story Playland in Disney Adventure World is all about seeing the world from a toy’s perspective, and Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin captures this particularly well. The giant toy dog tirelessly chases his own tail, taking you for a ride through Andy’s garden.
The ride delivers exactly what it promises: gentle, playful and thoroughly family-friendly. There are a few gentle rises and dips, slow curves and plenty of Toy Story atmosphere. It needs nothing more. For younger children in particular, this is often the first attraction in the park they board without hesitation and leave laughing. That is not always a given.
The queue sets the tone before the ride even begins. Its barriers are made from oversized Lincoln Logs, the classic American wooden construction toy also found in Andy’s room. Look closely as you make your way through the queue and you will spot more details like these, typical of Disney and of this part of the park.
Despite the gentle ride, the queue for Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin is often surprisingly long. The carousel has an almost magical appeal for families with young children, and with good reason. Few attractions in Toy Story Playland capture the atmosphere of Andy’s toy world so directly while also being so well suited to the youngest visitors.
At just over a minute, the ride is short enough for even excited two-year-olds to manage without difficulty, but long enough to bring a real smile to their faces.
Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin is not a highlight for adrenaline junkies, nor is it meant to be. It offers a calm break between RC Racer and the other attractions in Worlds of Pixar, and is one of the loveliest places in the park to simply enjoy the moment with young children.
