Single Rider Line in Disneyland Paris

Long queues are one of the less pleasant aspects of a day at Disneyland Paris. Unfortunately, they are almost unavoidable at particularly popular attractions, during peak travel periods and at weekends. Patience and a good strategy for passing the time can help, especially when you’re visiting with children. However, there are ways to cut down on waiting times at Disneyland Paris, at least at some attractions in the two theme parks.

Disneyland Paris once offered the free Fastpass, while today the paid Disney Premier Access can reduce waiting times. There is also another way to get on an attraction more quickly, at no extra cost. The Single Rider Line is a useful alternative for anyone who is flexible and doesn’t mind riding separately from their group.

It allows empty seats in attraction vehicles to be filled so that capacity does not go unused. This benefits the park by making operations more efficient, while visitors may get onto the attraction more quickly. The Single Rider Line is particularly useful for solo travellers or fans who want to experience an attraction several times in a row.

The Single Rider Line is an additional queue that runs alongside the regular queue. It is free and is designed to improve attraction throughput by allocating empty seats to individual guests. Unlike Disney Premier Access, there is no additional charge.

Single Rider Line at a glance

  • Price: free
  • Aim: Shorter waiting times by filling empty seats
  • Use: Alone or separately from your group
  • Requirements: No booking or app access required
  • Availability: Only at selected attractions
  • Suitable for: Solo travellers, couples or groups who are happy to ride separately

How does the Single Rider Queue work?

The Single Rider Line is separate from the regular queue. When seats become available on the ride, a Cast Member calls guests from this queue forward to fill them. You are simply assigned the next available seat, regardless of the row. This means you cannot predict exactly when it will be your turn. How quickly the queue moves depends largely on the attraction and how the seats are being filled.

You cannot choose where you sit and will usually be separated from the rest of your group. Even so, the Single Rider Line can save a considerable amount of time, especially at popular attractions with high demand.

You will also be seated next to other guests at random. This is worth bearing in mind if you are more introverted or prefer to ride with people you know.

Who would benefit from the Single Rider Line?

The Single Rider Line is ideal for you if you

  • are visiting on your own,
  • want to ride an attraction several times,
  • or want to avoid longer waits without paying for Premier Access.

It is less suitable for families with young children or groups who want to ride together. If sharing the experience is more important to you than saving time, you are better off using the regular queue.

Tips for use

  • Check the waiting times: The official Disneyland Paris app also shows waiting times for the Single Rider Lines, so you can quickly see where joining the queue may be worthwhile.
  • Not always quicker: At some attractions, especially Crush’s Coaster, the Single Rider Line can take almost as long as the regular queue.
  • No guaranteed immediate access: Seats are only assigned when gaps actually become available in the ride vehicles. Short waits are therefore possible, but not guaranteed.

More fun, less waiting

The Single Rider Line is a clever way to reduce your waiting time without paying extra. It can save you valuable time, especially at popular attractions, making it ideal if you want to make the most of your day in the park.

If you are staying at a Disney Hotel, you can also use Extra Magic Time to enter Disneyland Park or Disney Adventure World before regular park opening. During this exclusive hour for hotel guests, selected attractions are open, usually with significantly shorter waiting times. Combined with targeted use of the Single Rider Line, this can help you make the most of your day at Disneyland Paris.
