The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (DLP)
An abandoned hotel that hides more than you might think
A once-magnificent hotel at the edge of Hollywood Boulevard. Even from a distance, though, the Hollywood Tower Hotel looks anything but inviting. The façade is crumbling, the windows are dark, and the remaining illuminated signs flicker restlessly in the wind. Something here has not been right for a long time. Your way leads you there all the same, because oddly enough there is a reservation in your name. It gives you pause, and at the same time it only sharpens your curiosity.
Once you step into the lobby, it is quickly obvious that time has stopped here. Dust lies on the furniture, and suitcases and personal belongings have apparently been left behind in a hurry. Everything looks as though the guests left the hotel in a rush, or suddenly vanished. The hotel has been closed since a stormy night in 1939, at least officially. But the longer you look around, the stronger the sense that an invisible presence still fills the place.
After check-in you are led into the library. A flash of lightning lights up the room. An old television set starts to flicker, and a voice welcomes you, not to an ordinary hotel but to a very special episode of The Twilight Zone. At that moment it becomes clear that you have crossed the border into the fourth dimension and are letting yourself in for something that can no longer be fully explained.
What starts as a curious look behind the façade of an abandoned hotel soon turns into an experience in which you become part of the story yourself. The last lift still working takes you where reality and illusion run into one another, and by then, if not before, there is no way back.
