The name of the fort
You might think that the name Fort Comstock could be found in one of the adventurous legends of the Wild West. But that's not the case. The fort in Frontierland is named after a member of the Walt Disney Imagineering team – Paul Comstock.
At the same time, the fort's name also corresponds to a silver mine in Virginia City, Nevada. This mine, known as the Comstock Lode, was one of the richest silver mines in the United States during the 19th century, and its name was chosen to reflect the spirit of adventure and discovery associated with the Wild West.
