The candy shop Boardwalk Candy Palace with a big selection of many sweets

Boardwalk Candy Palace

Shopping for sweets in the style of classic amusement parks – a dream come true, and not just for those with a sweet tooth.

The Boardwalk Candy Palace is a glittering, colourful circus world full of delicious sweets – from chocolate to candy canes to bonbons, every sweet tooth will find something to tempt them here – and the scent of candyfloss wafts through the air, just like at a fairground from days gone by.
Nowhere else in the park is there a greater selection of sweets than at the Boardwalk Candy Palace.
In addition to all kinds of packaged sweets, which are also available elsewhere in the resort, the Boardwalk Candy Palace also has a counter offering a large selection of loose sweets and a whole wall full of boxes with a vast selection of sweets to mix yourself.

You can also watch the confectioners at work and purchase the freshly produced sweets directly.
The selection is simply heavenly, and when visiting Disneyland Park, don't forget to stop by the Candy Palace on your walk down Main Street.
In addition to sweets, you'll also find all kinds of kitchen accessories here.

Even if you don't want to buy any sweets, it's still worth a visit just to take a closer look at the many details of the shop's design.
The glass columns that decorate the room are fascinating.
They are filled with thousands of small glass candies and other sweets, which lend the room a special flair with their glow.
According to Eddie Sotto, the Imagineer responsible for Main Street, it took two whole nights just to fill the columns with the glass figurines.
The overall design is reminiscent of the early amusement parks in the USA – in a sense, the ancestors of the Disney parks, some of which still exist today.
In addition to the name, a large mural is reminiscent of the amusement park-like piers of the Atlantic City Boardwalk, which were built from 1870 onwards.
However, the Imagineers made one of their rare small mistakes. The mural claims to depict the Boardwalk in Atlantic City as it appeared in 1892. However, the picture shows the famous Steel Pier, which was not built until 1898. Other piers did exist in 1892, however, such as the Ocean Pier and other leisure facilities along the Boardwalk.
Look at the exterior façade of the Boardwalk Candy Palace. You will see the name of the building in which the shop is located: 'Tilyou Building' – named after the founder of the famous New York amusement park Coney Island.
The background music at the Candy Palace also fits in seamlessly with the theme, as the music played is reminiscent of classic barrel organs.
