RC Racer in Toy Story Playland
Hop into Andy’s remote-controlled racing car and experience a thrilling ride through the half-pipe
When you visit Toy Story Playland in Disney Adventure World, this attraction is almost impossible to miss. Its bright orange track rises high above the area and is the undisputed focal point of the entire land. Perspective plays a central role here: as you enter, you are visually reduced to the size of a toy and suddenly find yourself standing in front of a gigantic version of Andy’s remote-controlled racing car, RC Racer.
RC Racer is essentially a giant swinging ride of a type found in many theme parks around the world. What sets this version apart is its design, as there are few other places where you can take a wild ride in Andy’s racing car from the *Toy Story* films. The attraction was inspired by Mattel’s popular Hot Wheels, with their distinctive orange tracks found in many children’s bedrooms. The concept is extremely simple but effective: a giant toy car on a curved track.
There is no comparable ride anywhere else at Disneyland Paris. You cannot switch to another attraction with a similar ride experience, so this particular thrill is only available here. This is also one of the main reasons why the queue is rarely short. Arriving early, soon after the park opens, pays off.
RC Racer is the most intense ride in Andy’s Garden. This attraction in Worlds of Pixar mainly appeals to older children, teenagers and daring adults, while the youngest Disney visitors can only watch in amazement. A ride in Andy’s toy car is guaranteed to deliver a considerable adrenaline rush, especially from the front row.
