Key information at a glance
  • At restaurants in Disneyland Paris, you can ask for an allergy folder containing information about ingredients and go through it with a Cast Member to check which dishes may be suitable for you.
  • Not every restaurant can prepare food that is completely gluten-free without any risk of cross-contamination. For buffets, we therefore recommend booking for when the restaurant opens and checking which dishes are suitable before you eat.
  • You should bring a small supply of suitable food with you in case you cannot find an appropriate option. You can also find a wider range of gluten-free products at Auchan in Val d'Europe.
  • If you have coeliac disease, we advise against booking the Meal Plan. If you can tolerate small traces of gluten caused by possible cross-contamination, however, the Meal Plan may be an option.

Eating at Disneyland Paris if you have coeliac disease

Do you have coeliac disease? Or are you extremely sensitive to gluten and need to adapt your diet accordingly? If so, you’re probably already very familiar with what you can eat and tolerate well and what you need to avoid. When travelling, these dietary requirements can sometimes be a challenge. This also applies to a holiday at Disneyland Paris.
Welcome to our travel guide page! Here, we share tips and information about eating with coeliac disease at Disneyland Paris, so that you can prepare for your trip as thoroughly as possible and know what to expect when you arrive.
Although coeliac disease is a chronic condition rather than an allergy, our information on eating with allergies may also be helpful when planning your trip. Every restaurant at Disneyland Paris has what are known as ‘allergy folders’, which list the ingredients in the dishes served at that restaurant. You can ask a Cast Member for the allergy folder, or go through the list with a member of staff and then decide which options are suitable for you.
Important terms to remember or save for reference are: maladie cœliaque (coeliac disease)  and sans gluten (gluten-free). This helps ensure that a Cast Member understands your condition and how they can best assist you.

Tips for eating with coeliac disease at the Disney Parks

  • If you’d like to eat at a buffet, book a table for when the restaurant opens to reduce the risk of cross-contamination caused by other guests, for example if serving utensils are moved between dishes or breadcrumbs end up in the food. It is best to decide what you want to eat straight away and serve yourself before the buffet gets busier.
  • Before eating at a buffet, check the restaurant’s allergy folder to see which foods and dishes are suitable for you. As you usually pay before entering the buffet at Disneyland Paris, look through the information first and then decide whether the restaurant is a good option for you. If the selection works for you, you can pay and then eat.
  • In every restaurant, speak to a Cast Member before ordering and explain your situation. Unfortunately, not all restaurants can prepare food in a way that is completely safe for you. For example, the same fryer may be used for different foods, meaning that chips can be contaminated. In a fast-food restaurant, speaking to a Cast Member also helps ensure that food which could cause you problems is kept separate rather than packed together with the rest of your order.
  • Pre-packaged food such as salads or nachos can be a safer option.
  • To be on the safe side, bring a small supply of food that you can eat if you cannot find a suitable option.
  • Auchan, the large supermarket in Val d’Europe, has a fairly wide selection of gluten-free products. If you need to buy snacks or other food during your stay, Auchan is a good place to look.

Is the meal plan suitable for coeliacs?

If you have coeliac disease, we advise against booking the Meal Plan. If you have a gluten intolerance, however, adding the Meal Plan to your Disney package may be worth considering.
The Meal Plan gives you half-board or full-board during your stay at Disneyland Paris. Unfortunately, not all restaurants are equally well set up to cater for allergies, intolerances and special dietary requirements. If you want or need to be completely certain that your food is 100 per cent gluten-free and that there is no risk of cross-contamination, your dining options will be limited. Many Cast Members will direct you to the Natama menu. However, you should really only consider this as a last resort. With a Meal Plan, this option is not worthwhile. The menu costs €15–20, but at a buffet or table-service restaurant you still have to use a full voucher for it. That is poor value.
If you can tolerate food containing small traces of gluten, for example as a result of cross-contamination, then the Meal Plan may be worth considering, as it can offer good value in that case.
