Ratatouille: The Adventure – Dark Ride with Rémy

Rémy takes you on a journey – an adventure that will take your breath away

At La Place de Rémy in Disney Adventure World, one of the park’s main highlights awaits you: Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy (the French name for Ratatouille: The Adventure). This trackless dark ride catapults you from the rooftops of Paris straight into the bustle of Gusteau’s kitchen, all from a rat’s-eye view. What initially sounds like a harmless sightseeing trip quickly turns into a wild adventure full of surprises, and at times you can barely tell what is real and what is an illusion.

The adventure begins high above the rooftops of the city. Gusteau welcomes you in person and casually mentions that he has recently lost a star. There is no time to dwell on it, as you soon arrive at Gusteau’s restaurant, where Rémy and Gusteau are deep in a lively discussion about new dishes on the glass roof. Before you know it, you plunge through the roof and land in the middle of the kitchen, where a rat clearly has no business being. It is time to hide, scurry and escape.

What follows is a wild chase through the larder, kitchen and dining room, involving a game of cat and mouse, or perhaps chef and rat, with the relentless Skinner. Linguini eventually comes to your rescue. Along the way, you find yourself in Rémy’s own kitchen, where the group of rats are busy chopping, sizzling and frying, while objects flying through the air pose a very real danger. The grand finale is a lively feast beneath the roof, where Rémy and Émile still find time to give you a proper send-off despite everything going on around them.

The attraction stands out for its attention to detail. Every scene contains small surprises, far too many to spot on your first ride. The experience also varies slightly depending on which Ratmobile you board. That is a good reason to join the queue again straight afterwards and choose a different Ratmobile the next time.

Since opening on 10 July 2014, the attraction has remained one of the most popular in Disney Adventure World, and with good reason.

Who is the Ratatouille: The Adventure attraction suitable for?

Ratatouille: The Adventure is one of the most family-friendly attractions in Disney Adventure World, but also one of the most elaborate. Primary-school children and older kids will find plenty to enjoy, although the combination of movement and visual effects may be a little much for very young children. You should not be prone to dizziness or motion sickness. Everyone else can simply climb aboard and enjoy the experience.

For fans of the rat chef, the trackless ride is naturally a particular highlight. But we are sure that even if you have not seen the film, you will still have plenty of fun.
