Moana's parade float, accompanied by dancers in colorful South Pacific-style costumes

Disney Princess Cavalcade

Moana, Raya, Tiana and Rapunzel on Adventure Way

The Disney Princesses Moana, Raya, Tiana and Rapunzel are the stars of the Disney Princess Cavalcade, a small parade in Disney Adventure World. It travels along Adventure Bay several times a day, bringing life and entertainment to Adventure Way for more than just princess fans.

Each of the four Disney Princesses has her own float, designed specifically around her character. Look closely and you can spot plenty of details from the respective films. Pascal, for example, has sneaked onto Rapunzel’s float, while Hei Hei and Pua are never far away when Moana is around.
The floats alone make the cavalcade worth seeing, but there is more to it. Two songs accompany the cheerful procession, featuring familiar melodies from the films. They have been tailored to the experience and give the cavalcade an upbeat atmosphere.

At a set point along the route, the princesses step down from their floats. Here, they present typical elements from their stories. Moana performs dance moves inspired by Pacific Island culture, while Raya demonstrates movements inspired by martial arts.
You may even become part of the performance. At each stop, the princesses invite spectators into the centre and involve them in the sequence. This sets the cavalcade apart from traditional Disney parades and creates a moment you are unlikely to forget.

What to expect at the Disney Princess Cavalcade

The Disney Princess Cavalcade is not a large parade that travels through the entire park, but a smaller format, hence the term ‘cavalcade’. It takes place along Adventure Bay. The route leads from the area in front of the future Lion King Land, along Adventure Bay to The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge, and then back again.

At the midpoint of the route, the princesses stop their floats, step down and involve guests in a short show sequence. The cavalcade takes place several times a day throughout the year. Exact showtimes are available in the Disneyland Paris app.

Tips for your visit

  • Check the times for the Cavalcade: The Disney Princess Cavalcade takes place several times a day. Exact times are available in the Disneyland Paris app.
  • Arrive early: The interactive section of the cavalcade is particularly popular and attracts the largest crowds. Secure a spot in good time if you want to watch the action from this area.
  • With children: If your children only want to see Moana, Raya, Tiana or Rapunzel and do not necessarily want to take part, a spot along the shore of Adventure Bay is a good choice.
  • Participation is not guaranteed: Guests are invited to take part in the interactive scene. It is a nice experience if you or your children are chosen, but participation cannot be guaranteed.

Background to its origins of the Princess Cavalcade

The Disney Princess Cavalcade involves more work than you might expect when watching it. One and a half years of development and 287 hours of rehearsals went into this experience with the Disney Princesses. That is a considerable amount of work for a relatively short cavalcade with only four floats and four main characters.

The floats were built by a company from Nice specialising in street art. The costumes were designed by the creative costume team at Disneyland Paris and made entirely in France. The teams drew on the films, architecture and traditions of the worlds the four princesses come from.

  • A few figures give a clearer idea of the work involved:
  • 120 metres of fringe were made by hand for Moana’s kite
  • 900 pieces of fabric were cut and sewn for Raya’s dragon
  • 24 handcrafted feathers decorate the staff used by Tiana’s companions
  • 13 ducks decorate Rapunzel’s float

The music was also composed specifically for the cavalcade. Two new songs were recorded in Nashville and Paris with around 50 musicians. They draw on familiar Disney Princess melodies, but have been arranged to create a new musical experience designed specifically for the Disney Princess Cavalcade.
