Who would benefit from a Disneyland Pass?

An annual pass for Disneyland Paris shouldn’t be an impulse buy – it only really makes sense under certain circumstances. Keeping the following points in mind will help you decide whether it’s the right choice for you.

The Disneyland Pass is particularly worthwhile for:

• Anyone who wants to visit Disneyland Paris several times a year
• Flexible travellers who can plan spontaneously and at short notice
• Visitors who are not staying at a Disney Hotel and arrange their own accommodation and park admission
• Longer and repeated stays, where the cost can quickly pay off

Less suitable for:

• A first visit – in this case, a standard package is usually the better choice
• Travellers with fixed dates during school holidays – blockout dates may prevent park access with Bronze or Silver
• Occasional short stays of two to three days – in this case, the cost is unlikely to pay off
• Anyone looking for a standard package including a hotel and perhaps even meals – a regular ticket is usually cheaper

Important before you buy:
Two points are often overlooked when buying an annual pass* – and, in the worst case, can spoil your visit: blockout dates and the reservation system. With Bronze and Silver, there are days when park entry is simply not possible. Bronze One does not allow park hopping. Even with the Gold Pass, your visit must be reserved in advance. Make sure you check these points before buying.

What is included in the Disneyland Pass?

An annual pass is more than just an admission ticket – but not everything is automatically included. There are small but important differences between the individual passes, which can be confusing. Here’s an overview of what to expect:

This applies to all annual passes
Whichever option you choose – these benefits are included with every Disneyland Pass:

• Park admission with park hopping – with all passes except Bronze One, you can switch between the two parks as often as you like on the day of your visit. Bronze One is valid for just one park per day.
• Free parking – parking in the main car park is included with every annual pass. There is an additional charge for motorhomes.
• Reservation system – your visit must be reserved in advance via the Disneyland Paris app. You can reserve up to three days at the same time. If you’re staying at a Disney Hotel and have a Magic Pass, you’re exempt from the reservation requirement.
• Exclusive events – as an annual passholder, you can take part in Disneyland Pass Nights, PopUp Surprises, friend ticket promotions and other events. If there is a charge, it is not included in the pass price, but the event can be booked exclusively by passholders. 

Additional benefits depending on your pass
Silver and Gold also offer additional benefits that can quickly make a difference if you visit frequently:

• Discounts in restaurants and shops – Silver offers 10%, Gold 15% off food, drinks and purchases. The discount also applies to up to five accompanying guests without their own annual pass – an often overlooked benefit. Important to note: Bronze passes do not offer any discounts.
• Photopass+ – with Silver you get 10% off Photopass+, while with Gold it is included for the entire duration of the pass. This can be a real advantage if you like taking attraction photos home with you.
• Extra Magic Time – exclusively for Gold passholders: early entry to the parks before they open to everyone else. If you’re an early riser and want to benefit from shorter queues, this is a real bonus.

Park Bookings & Blockout Dates

There are two things you really need to understand before you buy – otherwise the enjoyment of your first day can quickly be spoiled: the park reservation system and the blockout dates. Here’s exactly how they work:

Park reservations
With every Disneyland Pass, you must reserve your visit in advance via the Disneyland Paris app. You can have up to three reservations active at the same time.  Once you’ve used the first one, you can add another day. There are usually enough spaces available, but you should still reserve as early as possible, especially during peak season. Reservations open from midnight.
An exception applies if you’re staying at a Disney Hotel and have a Magic Pass – in this case, you don’t need a reservation.

Important information about the Bronze Pass: How the reservation system works
There’s one detail here that many people are unaware of: with Bronze One or Bronze Max, you cannot immediately reserve several days in advance after buying the pass for the first time. The pass must first be activated on site – only after you’ve entered one of the parks on the first day of your visit can you reserve further days from midnight onwards.
In practical terms, this means that if you want to visit the parks on two consecutive days with a Bronze Pass, you can only reserve the second day on the first day of your visit – not from home. If you don’t know this, you could end up without a reservation for the following day. This exception only applies to the first use. After that, reservations work in the same way as with the other annual passes.

Blockout Dates
With the Silver and Bronze Passes, you do not have access to the parks every day. These restricted days – known as blockout dates – mainly fall during school holidays and on public holidays, when many people want to travel. Make sure you check them carefully before buying.
Important: The blockout dates also apply if you’re staying at a Disney Hotel. A hotel stay does not exempt you from them.
Only the Gold Pass gives you unrestricted access to both parks on all 365 days of the year. You’ll find an up-to-date overview of the blockout dates for Bronze and Silver further down this page.

The Bronze and Silver versions of the Disneyland Pass do not provide access to Disneyland Paris every day. The days on which you cannot enter the parks with these annual passes are known as blockout dates.
Only the Gold Disneyland Pass gives you access to both theme parks 365 days a year.

How do I buy a Disneyland Annual Pass for Disneyland Paris?

You can buy the Disneyland Pass either online in advance or directly at Disneyland Paris. Which option makes most sense for you mainly depends on whether you plan your visit in advance or decide spontaneously.

Buy online
The easiest option is to buy your pass through the official Disneyland Paris website. After purchase, you’ll receive your Disneyland Pass in digital form and can use it straight away via the Disneyland Paris app.
It is not sent by post. However, if you prefer, you can also have your annual pass issued as a plastic card at an annual pass counter at the resort.
Important: The Disneyland Pass cannot currently be purchased through the UK website. You’ll need to switch the site to French to buy it. In the booking section, you can then select the Disneyland Pass and purchase it just like a standard ticket. The whole process is straightforward and takes just a few steps.
If you buy your annual pass online, it is valid from the day of purchase. You cannot choose a later start date for the validity period.

Buy on site
Alternatively, you can buy your Disneyland Pass directly at the annual pass counters at the resort. This option is particularly useful if you decide to buy your pass spontaneously or prefer to have a physical card straight away.
Even if you have already bought your pass online, you can have it issued as a plastic card here.
dlp.info tip: If you’ve already bought a day ticket and then decide at the resort to get an annual pass, you can have the price of your day ticket credited towards the Disneyland Pass. This is particularly worthwhile if you realise you’d like to come back – just ask at the annual pass counter.

Payment and instalments
You can either pay for your Disneyland Pass in full or in monthly instalments. After an initial payment, the remaining amount is collected in eleven equal monthly instalments.
Payment by instalments is only available when buying the pass online or on site.

• The initial payment for the Disneyland Pass Bronze One is €102, followed by €17 per month
• The initial payment for the Disneyland Pass Bronze Max is €135, followed by €24 per month
• The initial payment for the Disneyland Pass Silver is €140, followed by €39 per month
• The initial payment for the Disneyland Pass Gold is €150, followed by €59 per month

Important notice
You need a valid form of photo ID to purchase a Disneyland Pass. Make sure you have your identity card, passport or driving licence with you.

Events, Pop-up Surprises & Friends Tickets

As a Disneyland Paris annual passholder, you can take advantage of various additional offers that go beyond a standard park visit – and which many passholders consider real highlights. None of them is guaranteed to be available permanently, but when they are offered, they can be worthwhile.

Disneyland Pass Events / Nights
Disneyland Pass Nights are exclusive evening events with limited capacity – a nice extra for annual passholders that many regular visitors appreciate. On these evenings, the park closes earlier for regular guests, while the event for passholders is only just beginning. Shorter queues, additional shows, special Meet & Greets and a distinctive atmosphere – once you’ve attended one, you’ll probably want to go again.

You can usually bring guests with you, even if they do not have their own annual pass – the exact number varies depending on the event. The organisation of the events and the programme during Pass Nights has improved in recent years – if you decide to attend, you can expect a very enjoyable evening. 
The events are not included in the price of the annual pass and must be booked separately. You can find current dates in your Disneyland Paris account under "My Disneyland Pass". Disneyland Pass Nights are usually in high demand, so it is worth booking tickets as soon as possible.

PopUp Surprises
PopUp Surprises give you the chance to meet Disney characters who are rarely seen during normal park operations. These events are available for a limited time, require a separate reservation – and are free of charge. If you enjoy character Meet & Greets, keep an eye on the announcements.

Friend tickets
Friend tickets are occasional promotions that allow you to buy discounted admission tickets for accompanying guests. These offers are not permanently available and are only released during certain periods. You can find current information in your Disneyland Paris account under "My Disneyland Pass".
