Magic Shots are one of the special photo experiences at Disneyland Paris. The pictures may look quite normal at first glance, until an extra Disney moment appears. Characters, effects or little surprises are added to your photo afterwards, creating images that you could not see at the time.

The special part is that you do not yet know what your photo will look like while it is being taken. Only after your PhotoPass has been scanned will you see which effect has been added. This element of surprise is part of the appeal of Magic Shots and often makes for particularly creative souvenir photos.

Throughout the resort, you will find PhotoPass photographers at various locations offering these shots. The designs vary depending on the location and may change over time, so keep an eye out for them. Not every photo spot offers a Magic Shot, so you can also ask the photographers directly.

Where can you find Magic Shots at Disneyland Paris?

Magic Shots are available at various locations throughout Disneyland Paris, although there are generally no permanent locations. The designs and photo spots may change over time or be adapted for the season.

Our tip: Keep an eye out in Frontierland around the fort and near the fountain in front of Plaza Gardens Restaurant. You are more likely to find suitable photo spots in these areas.

Magic Shots are often available at selected photo spots with PhotoPass photographers. These are usually in busy areas of the park or near well-known backdrops. Not every photo spot offers a Magic Shot, so it is worth asking directly.

The Disneyland Paris app can also help you find some photo spots. However, not all available Magic Shots are always listed there, so keep an eye out while you are in the parks as well.

How Magic Shots work at Disneyland Paris

To use Magic Shots, you need a PhotoPass. You can buy one at various shops in Disneyland Paris and use it throughout your stay. The PhotoPass is usually valid for several days and gives you access to all the photos taken of you during that period.

If you see a PhotoPass photographer, you can ask directly for a Magic Shot. The photographer will give you brief instructions, for example where to look or how to position yourself. When the photo is taken, you will not yet be able to see which effect will be added later.

After the photo has been taken, it is saved to your PhotoPass. You can then view and download your photos online via the official disneyphotopass.eu website or have them printed if required.

If you only decide to get a PhotoPass after the photo has been taken, that is also possible. In this case, you will receive a code that you can use to add the photos to your account later.

Is the PhotoPass worth it for Magic Shots?

The PhotoPass at Disneyland Paris is generally not worth buying for the Magic Shots alone. The number of available designs is limited, and Magic Shots are not offered at every photo spot.

Its real strength lies in the overall package. Alongside the Magic Shots, you get access to all attraction photos and to pictures taken by PhotoPass photographers throughout the resort. This gives you a much wider selection of souvenir photos.

Magic Shots are more of an added extra, a fun addition that gives your photos a distinctive touch, but they should not be the main reason for buying a PhotoPass.
