The Last Chance Cafe is not a typical restaurant, but a strikingly themed food spot. Its walls are plastered with wanted posters of notorious outlaws from the untamed days of the Wild West.
Step onto the terrace and take in a breathtaking panorama of the Rivers of the Far West and the majestic Big Thunder Mountain. As evening falls on a summer day, the setting sun bathes the lake in golden light and sets the mountain aglow, creating a scene that feels almost magical.
In bad weather or cool temperatures, it can get quite draughty on the terrace of the Last Chance Cafe, even though you are protected from the rain by the roof. However, you can still enjoy a hot drink here, but it is not really suitable for eating on such days.
Eventful history
The Last Chance Café in Frontierland has a colorful past. It began as a bustling fast-food spot with a generous menu, but over time, its offerings shrank and its doors opened only on special days.
A few years later, an attempt was made to establish an ice cream parlour here, at least during the summer months. This was followed by a return to a wide range of Tex-Mex-style fast food, which you could only enjoy when the park was very busy. The latter circumstance has not changed to this day. However, the menu was completely revamped in spring 2024. Since then, BBQ snacks have been available here. Dishes such as the famous turkey legs are offered here.
The food selection
Here, you’ll find hearty fast food snacks that satisfy all ages. While there’s no dedicated kids’ menu, most portions are just right for little cowboys and cowgirls. And for dessert, creamy ice cream brings a smile to every face.
Vegetarians and vegans will also find plenty to enjoy, with a selection of tasty plant-based dishes on offer at the Last Chance Cafe.
