Adventurers could once discover the stunning Rivers of the Far West in Frontierland in two memorable ways: by gliding aboard a grand paddle steamer from the Thunder Mesa Riverboat Landing Company, or by setting out on a more intimate journey with the River Rogue Keelboats.
The Keelboats were two small boats, Coyote and Raccoon, which mainly sailed the rivers of the Wild West during the high season and only during daylight hours.
While the River Rogue Keelboats might not have matched the paddle steamers in grandeur, their charm lay in the adventure. These smaller boats offered a peaceful escape from the crowds and brought you face to face with the wild beauty of the river, where you could spot birds and animals along the banks.
Once aboard, your adventure unfolded at a gentle pace. You drifted past Old Joe and his loyal dog, skimmed close to the mysterious island, and soon found yourself near the bubbling geysers. Boot Hill and Phantom Manor loomed in the distance before Thunder Mesa rose into view. The journey continued downriver, ending with a safe return to the welcoming harbour of Smugler's Cove.
