Disneyland Paris Virtual Queue – how meeting Disney characters works

If you're eager to meet Mickey, Stitch, Olaf or the Disney princesses at Disneyland Paris without the stress of long queues, the Virtual Queue is your solution. This digital system replaces traditional lines for many of the many popular meet-and-greets in the parks. Instead of enduring lengthy waits, you can simply secure a spot in the virtual queue via the Disneyland Paris app – and return when it's your turn, feeling relieved and ready to enjoy your encounter.

Disneyland Paris has thus introduced a system that many guests are already familiar with from other Disney parks. The aim is to reduce waiting times while also making the stay in the park more enjoyable. In the past, there were often long queues and waiting times of over two hours, especially for popular characters such as Stitch or the princesses. The Virtual Queue ensures that you can make better use of this time – for attractions, shows or simply a relaxing break in the Cable Car Bakeshop or wherever else you like.

The system was initially tested at the Hero Training Centre in Avengers Campus before being gradually rolled out to other locations. Several meet-and-greets now use this digital process – and more will likely follow in the future. This makes the Virtual Queue an integral part of daily planning at Disneyland Paris.

While the change may seem unfamiliar at first, rest assured that the Virtual Queue system is designed to be user-friendly and easy to understand. It offers clear advantages, giving you more freedom in planning your day and allowing for spontaneous enjoyment in the park without the need to stand in line for hours.

How does the virtual queue work?

The Virtual Queue, a convenient and free reservation system, is at your fingertips in the official Disneyland Paris app. It's your key to securing a spot in the digital queue for your favourite characters. With this system, there's no need to worry about long standby queues – without a reservation via the app, access to these meet-and-greets is not possible.

The booking windows usually open daily at 9:45 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. New slots are released at these times, and demand is high – so it's worth being ready on time. Once you have a virtual reservation, the app will show you an estimated waiting time. You will receive a notification about 15 minutes before it's your turn, keeping you informed and in control. From the moment your slot becomes active, you have one hour to arrive at the meeting point.

All guests aged three and above, including annual pass holders, are required to have their own reservation. The system, in its fairness, only allows one booking per character location per day. This ensures that everyone gets a chance to meet their favourite characters, so if you meet Stitch in the morning, you cannot revisit him in the afternoon.

Meet & Greets with Virtual Queue

The system was first introduced at the Hero Training Centre in Avengers Campus, where guests can meet Spider-Man, Captain Marvel and other superheroes. It has since been expanded to other locations:

The system is currently the only way to meet these characters. There is no standby option, and guests with disabilities must also queue up regularly via the app.
Be sure to check the app during your visit to find out the current situation on the day of your stay. New Meet & Greets may be added to the system at any time. At the same time, the Virtual Queue may be suspended on certain days, in which case you will need to queue traditionally.

Tips for successful booking

  • Link all tickets and annual passes in the app before your visit.
  • Be punctual: set an alarm for a few minutes before 9:45 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
  • Use a stable internet connection, preferably mobile data instead of the park's Wi-Fi.
  • Practise navigating the app in advance so you don't waste any time when opening the queue.
  • Plan ahead which character you would most like to meet – places are allocated within a few seconds.

Please note that for the Virtual Queue, you must already be in the park, i.e., have scanned your ticket at the entrance, to book a Virtual Queue. Additionally, please note that you can only book one meeting at a time. Only when this is complete can you join another virtual queue.

Virtual queue for meet and greets – the ultimate solution?

The Virtual Queue offers several advantages, including reduced waiting time, increased flexibility, and improved visitor management within the park. Nevertheless, it is in high demand – especially for popular characters such as Stitch or the princesses. If you miss out, you can try again in the afternoon.

Although the system may take some getting used to, it significantly enhances your day at the park. You can make the most of your waiting time by exploring other attractions or enjoying a leisurely meal, all while your spot is securely reserved.

However, there are always guests who report technical problems and are unable to reserve a place. This is both unfortunate and annoying. If you encounter difficulties of this kind, please get in touch with a Cast Member on site. But if you follow all the steps in our guide and take our tips into account, you should have a good chance of securing your place with your favourite character.
