Dapper Dan's Hair Cut
An experience for every true gentleman – sit back and let yourself be styled or shaved.
Dapper Dan's Hair Cuts, a unique institution on Main Street, U.S.A., has defied the odds of being declared dead, thanks to its unwavering popularity with fans and cast members. This small wellness temple, attached to the Emporium, is a haven for gentlemen in the midst of an amusement park.
Dapper Dan's Hair Cuts is a marvel of meticulous design, exuding the charm of classic barber shops from the turn of the 19th to the 20th century. Every aspect, from the furnishings and accessories to the staff costumes, is a perfect fit for the Main Street environment.
What sets Dapper Dan's Hair Cuts apart is the authenticity of its accessories and furnishings. These are not mere replicas, but original pieces that have been lovingly collected over the years.
For example, the collection of around 100 soap dishes is not from modern production, but consists entirely of originals manufactured before 1910 and used in American barber shops.
This also applies to many of the furnishings. Particularly noteworthy is the steam warmer for towels, an original from 1900, featured at the time in a catalogue from the mail-order company Sears & Roebuck. It was a particularly challenging task for the Imagineers to find a preserved (and functioning) piece of it, which ultimately happened by chance.
So, please sit back and enjoy a little trip back in time, because with the matching pictures of baseball players (similar to those in Casey's Corner) or boxers on the walls, replicas of old newspapers and much more, you really feel transported back to a time when gentlemen still met for their daily shave in their barber shop and discussed sports, politics and economics with the other guests. politics and economics.
To make the most of your visit, we recommend making an appointment in advance. Dapper Dan's Hair Cuts offers shaves and haircuts on many weekdays, although the hours are somewhat irregular. You can book your appointment either at the barber shop itself or at City Hall on Town Square.
Once you arrive, it's worth taking in the lovely details and really enjoying your visit to Dapper Dan's Hair Cuts as a moment of tranquillity – how often do men still have the opportunity to get a classic shave at their local barber shop? Dapper Dan's services are not included in the park admission price, but as a beauty treatment, they are well worth the cost.
