Disneyland Paris, more specifically, the Walt Disney Studios Park, will get a Frozen Land! This news was announced by Robert Iger on February 27, 2018 in Paris. This area is to be opened between 2021 and 2025, so all fans of Anna, Elsa, Olaf & Co still need a little patience. We suspect that the new Frozen area is only at the end of the expansion plan and guess 2025 as the opening date. This tip seemed a little too pessimistic in the meantime, because it became known that Disneyland Paris expected an opening in the period 2023/2024. However, the Corona crisis has caused many things to slow down, including the completion of the new Frozen area for Disneyland Paris. 2025 thus seems more likely again as an opening date.
OPENING 2024 / 2025!
Initially, no details were known about the new Frozen Land at Disneyland Paris. There was only the concept art, which can be seen at the very top of the page here. Looking at this design, you quickly notice that there are some similarities to the concept drawings for Hong Kong Disneyland. The area based on the movie "The Ice Queen - Completely Unfrozen" at Hong Kong Disneyland was originally scheduled to open in December 2021 and be called Arendelle: World of Frozen. That plan has also been delayed, and it is now scheduled to open in late 2023. Two attractions are planned, one of which will be a family-friendly roller coaster whose name will be Wandering Oaken's Sliding Sleighs, and the other attraction will be a water ride inspired by Frozen Ever After at Epcot. Furthermore, live entertainment, possibly in the form of a show with Anna and Elsa, stores and restaurants are planned. It is also not unlikely to set up a meet and greet with Anna and Elsa or other heroes from the movie "The Ice Queen".
But back to Paris. Here, no name is yet known for Frozen Land, but we now know that there will be a Meet & Greet in the castle of Arendelle, presumably with Anna and Elsa, in addition to a water ride that, according to the planning, will essentially correspond to the water attraction from Hong Kong. Concept drawings released on Feb. 12, 2020, also show a large restaurant. They also give a first impression of the appearance of the new area. Published these drawings are in our Disney Parks magazine.
